How to configure Entra ID backup

You can use the Commvault Cloud software to back up and restore Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).

Backups

Data You Can Back Up

• Users

• Groups

• Conditional access policies

• Enterprise applications

• App registrations

• Roles

Commvault Cloud backs up the objects, their attributes, and all relationships between these objects, such as group memberships, owners, and permissions.

Note

If you do not have a valid Microsoft subscription and license for Azure Active Directory, some attributes are not backed up.

When You Can Perform Backups

• On a schedule: The backup plan that you assign manages scheduled backups. Azure AD uses a built-in backup plan that schedules a daily backup

• On demand: You can perform on-demand backups at any time

Restores

Storage

Primary copies, stored in cloud storage that is managed by Commvault Cloud, are included in your Commvault Cloud license. The cloud storage is automatically provisioned in the country you select when you sign up.
